Did anyone get the number of that Big Y….

So. Went to the Blaze show tonight. I honestly had minor expectations for it, but any chance to hang out with the Juggalos is always a reason to get out of the house. We could go to a ballet together and it would be a good time. And look weird, too…all that facepaint. All that spandex. It’d be like a wrestling match from the early 90’s.

Anyways, the show at hand. Got there and ran into soem familiar faces in Insane Eric, Big Daddy Shit and Big Y, amongst others. Also ran into Supersize from our affiliate, GZNinjaz.net (the guys we link to for message boarding) The main acts got up, starting with Psycho Jesus. I dug it, as far as horrorcore music goes, just really low key. But worth a look, nonetheless. Talked to both him and his hype man about doing some interviews in the future. Next up was Grave Plott. I hadn’t kept up much on news of who was on this tour, and realized that was Killa C, who I interviewed a few months ago, and he cohort, the Liquid Assassin. Some great stuff, and finally got the crowd moving three groups in. Their set was sick, and I can’t wait to see what their relationship with Strange Music brings us.

And of course Blaze was up last. This just felt like a stronger set this time. (or just because I just left during the slow songs for a water and piss break). But he started out with some 1 Less G shit, rolling into Colton, went for a piss break and let the ROC do some songs, and ended out the set pretty strong. Way better, and much better crowd than last time Blaze headlined in Pittsburgh. I haven’t had the chance to rock in a mosh pit like that for a while.

Then it happened. The Big Y got into the pit. I haven’t seen this for a while. This dude’s like two inches taller than me, and just thicker. So after he kills half the kids in there, I go at it with him one on one. I get knocked back a bit, my back to the stage, gearing up to run at him again. Then it happened.

For some reason, I saw a sweater/hoodie or something on the ground out of the corner of my eye. In a split second I thought “I should pick that up. It belongs to someone. It might be mine, actually (my hoodie was tied around my waiste).” Well, I reached down to grab it. And neglected to remember Big Y was still coming at me. The top of my head connected with his chest and knocked me flat on my ass. It took a second for me to get back up. But for some reason, I kept pointing at the sweater that had bamboozled me. But I got up, picked it up, yelled “I was trying to be nice” and threw the damn thing in the crowd. I’m sure it was a hell of a sight.

And now, I’m going to ice my head.
